TOKAI Gas has acquired EcoAction21 environmental management system certification and manages waste in an appropriate manner. TOKAI GAS is also audited by an outside specialist every year to maintain the certification.

TOKAI's "Asagiri no Shizuku" service delivering tasty water to your door is an eco-friendly services which uses recyclable pet plastic bottles.
Resilient telecommunications service infrastructure
The telecommunications services provided by TOKAI Communications use a network with diverse routing and geographical diversification of data centers in Shizuoka and Okayama to introduce redundancy to the system configuration and ensure that services will not be interrupted under any circumstances. The system is designed to so that services are maintained even in the event of partial system failure through the instant switch of primary and standby systems.
Replacement of all city gas pipes with earthquake-resistant pipes
TOKAI Gas aims to replace all city gas pipes with earthquake-resistant pipes by the end of FY2030. It is also implementing measures to prevent gas supply facilities from flooding due to heavy rains, helping increase the region's disaster resilience by building infrastructure which is resilient against earthquakes, storm and flood damage and other disasters.
Emergency broadcasts in the event of disaster
In accordance with its designation as a "designated local public corporation" under the Basic Act on Disaster Control Measures and pursuant to disaster emergency broadcast agreements with local governments, TOKAI Cable Network helps ensure that residents stay safe in the event of disaster or the risk thereof by collecting information which will help reduce damage from local governments and other parties and communicating this information in emergency broadcasts on the community channels.
Installation of river surveillance cameras
As a measure to address the flooding of rivers which is causing increasingly serious damage in recent years, TOKAI Cable Network is seeking to minimize damage by independently installing river surveillance cameras to supplement those installed by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and making the images available via community channels or online.
Preservation of regional marine resources and protection of the environment
TOKAI Holdings contributes to clean up activities in the Miho region through participation in "Clean-Up Activities @ Miho Beach" organized by Shizuoka Economic Affairs Bureau (“City of Maritime Culture” Promotion Department) and Shizuoka Prefecture Branch of Japan Sportfishing Foundation.
TOKAI Gas has been taking part in beach clean-up activities in Ishizuhama, Yaizu since 2003 and was involved in activities to develop a coastal disaster prevention forest pursuant to an agreement with Shizuoka Prefecture in 2011, and was presented with a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Chubu Regional Development Bureau in July 2020 in recognition of its many years of involvement in beach clean-up and development activities.
Repair of fishing vessels to make marine resources and markets accessible to those in the fishing industry
TOKAI Zosen Unyu Co., Ltd. contributes to the business continuity of those involved in the fishing industry, providing them with access to marine resources and markets through its ship repair business.
Nanryo Industrial Park Forest Saver Activities
Employees at the Nanryo Industrial Park, where TOKAI Aqua Fujisan Plant is located, take part in activities aimed at protecting the plants and animals and preserving the biodiversity of ancient woodland in "Nanryo no Mori," a green space covering approximately15 ha with elevation around 400m.
