The CO2 emission factors for city gas and LP gas are lower than those for fossil fuels such as coal and oil. TOKAI and TOKAI Gas were supplying 744 thousand customers with city gas or LPG gas as of the end of March 2021.
Meanwhile, in the industrial sector, we are also working to expand sales of cogeneration systems in which electric power is generated by a gas engine, turbine, fuel cell or other process fuelled by city gas of LP gas and at the same the waste heat generated in the process is collected. The waste heat collected in the co-generation system can be used as a heat source or for cooling, heating or hot water supply at manufacturing plants, realizing high overall energy efficiency.

Regional BWA uses frequencies between 2,575 MHz and 2,595 MHz (regional band) to provide wireless telecommunication services aimed at helping increase the welfare of communities, including improving the level of community services and eliminating the digital divide.

TOKAI Cable Network is upgrading its CATV transmission lines, replacing coaxial cables with fiber-optic to broadcast high-definition programs and provide high-capacity, stable internet to people living in rural areas and to build a resilient and reliable infrastructure.

TOKAI Communications has been selling “Smart Facility Manager” to data center and CATV operators as an air-conditioning control solution for server rooms and other facilities.
To market the solution for office buildings, TOKAI Communications recently collaborated with Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. and Uchida Yoko Co., Ltd. to conduct an AI-based air conditioning control demonstration experiment on the seventh-story office floor of Tokyo Tatemono Yaesu Building, successfully eliminating inconsistencies in temperature on the floor and reducing energy consumption by around 50%. Based on the results of this experiment, Tokai Communications plans to further promote machine learning in AI-based air-conditioning control to provide comfortable office spaces and save energy.
